Attack (Part One)

Property/Privacy/Dignity Attack

1. Wheelchair: One time when I was waiting for bus at bus stop, an Asian boy of about 9 or 10 years old try to touch the control of my wheelchair at the back. (This is the Second Control of my Powered Wheelchair to be operated by my carers. It was installed because I cannot operate the Front Control of my wheelchair after my upper limb operations. My both arms were bent in 90 degrees and binded in front of my chest for 24/7 for couple of months to prevent dislocation of my wound. When the Switch Control Button was pressed, the Front Control cannot be operated.) When the boy tried to “attack me”, my relative was with me. She yelled “No” to stop him. But he tried again after very short time. I stared at him and his parents. The parents just sit on the bench seem nothing happened without interfering their son. I was thinking to ask my relative to video the whole “Attack” progress and post on youtube. I guess the parents may have disability- blind and non-verbal.

Similar to the above situation, but it happened on adults. Not only one, but a few adults pressed my Second Control buttons without my permit in the past few years. Once it is pressed, I have no way to control my wheelchair from the front control. To me, it seems chopping or breaking my legs, I can’t go anywhere. They are all men. They think it is just for fun. May be they think any buttons can be pressed. Well, this is not your toy, keep away from me. I am not sure if I can charge them as offence if it will happen next time.

I met some other young kids or adults. They were curious to my wheelchair. For kids, their parents taught them to ask for my permission. Of course, I am happy to show to them and let them try after adjusting the speed.
