Here is my first short film production – The Time Out of My Wheelchair

Imagine you rely on a powered wheelchair to move around everyday. What if you are out of the wheelchair? What will you do? or Where will you go? …

FOCUS on ABILITY

FOCUS on ABILITY – What a powerful phrase. It is not just for people with disABILITIES, it is also for everyone. All of us need to ask ourselves“ What is my strength? ” and “ How would you apply them? ”

In 2016, I attended a film screening event organised by FOCUS on ABILITY film competition in Adelaide. It showed some short films reflecting the ability side of people with disABILITIES in school and in other environment. It is very impressive to visualise the real life of these people. I’d like to see more of such production.

In 2018, I decided to make and organise my own films. In the beginning, I had no ideas in my mind. But my participation in the MY disABILITIES Book Project from 2017 did give me some inspiration. Some days later, a few thoughts came to my mind: “Fun”, “Activity”, “Wheelchair”, then a phase “The Time Out of My Wheelchair” popped up and it became the theme for my production.

  1. Great, shows that there are people who care. We are not defined by our physical limitations!
