My 10 Queendom Rules

My Ten Queendom Ru6les

I always said, “Common Sense is NOT Common.” especially to people with different backgrounds, training, cultures, education, habits, experience …

Since I had my injury, different people appear in my life to assist me, from African,  Asian,  Australian, European… Below are my 10 critical rules for better communication. (I hope.)

    1. If you are not sure, don’t understand or forget, please ASK or DOUBLE CHECK with me. NO assumption or I thought.
    2. LISTEN the instruction CAREFULLY.
    3. Do your best to REMEMBER what you were told. Eg write it down, make reminder
    4. When I say, “LISTEN” or “LOOK”, I really mean it and it means IMPORTANT. Don’t keep talking or doing other things.
    5. LOOK into my EYES when I give instruction. My eyes tell you the DIRECTION. They are part of my communication channels.
    6. Most routines and procedures have been developed for some reasons. ASK if you don’t understand or want to know the reasons behind. And please FOLLOW it.
    7. Without my permission, DON’T MAKE DECISION on behalf of me. (I am not your kid.)
    8. If you have any new ideas or suggestions, please DISCUSS with me before taking action.
    9. You are my eyes, ears, hands and legs. REPORT the fact if something is unusual or seems not normal.
    10. ALWAYS REMEMBER RULE #1

Just imagine if the above rules are REVERSED and apply to you when someone offers the assistance which you CANNOT do it by yourself. What will it be like? I experienced.

    1. I have a carer plan for my normal basic routines. But changes run faster than the plan. (I see everyday is a new day. No 2 days are exactly the same.) And I like to do “experiments” from time to time. Not all people know how to react with the changes or my “experiments”. My verbal instruction is the quickest way to manage the continued changes.
