Names (Part Two)

Queen

If you read my Welcome Page, I explained a bit the reason of calling “my Second Life” as  “my Queendom” and I am the Queen of my Queendom. After being injured, there are lots of things I need to manage which was almost unnecessary in my “First Life”:

  • Appointments: for Medical, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Gym Exercise, Nurse Visitation…
  • Arrangements: for transportation, carers (teaching them the procedures, systems, routines…, keep checking, reminding them)
  • Ordering: for medication, contingency products, gadgets, tools …
  • Paperwork: checking & emailing invoices and billings for reimbursement, paying the invoices, following up the mess made by others, e.g. incorrect invoices
  • Coordinating or Communicating: to deal with different parties if they cannot or unwilling to communicate

I have no one doing these for me due to many reasons behind: e.g. I am not rich enough, I cannot afford to hire a Personal Assistant; I don’t work for others and my brain is still working, so I have time to manage it at my own pace; Other people do not know my preferences. I am not easy to be compromise sometimes; And from my experience, the more people I use to help me, the more communication and management issues create.

I am not just a Queen to create the Rules, Systems and Routines, I work like an Instructor, a merchandiser, a Bookkeeper, a Communicator, a Co-ordinator … Become disabled, I need to become more capable in other areas. What if my brain is …? Well, if you have someone doing it for you, and manage it well, you are lucky. If you are helping someone like baby, old people or disabled people, I can understand your challenges.
