Vampire

When staying in hospital, I like to tell the nurses and doctors that I am a Vampire.

I don’t like the light from the ceiling when lying on bed, thus I like to cover myself with the blanket or bed sheet in day and even night time.

I like sleeping in day time as the nurses disturb me at night time for measuring the blood pressure, temperature and etc. Once my sleep is disrupted, it is hard for me to go back to sleep. As I cannot move around once lying on the bed, I am a “Lying Vampire”. And I will need to catch my sleep in the day time.

My normal blood pressure is always low (90/60) because of my intense spinal cord injury. Recently I was sent to hospital because I felt very unwell. My blood pressure went down to 70/30. I heard the conversation between a nurse and a doctor, “Is she still alive?”

My blood veins become narrower at my palm. I think it is related to my body movement and lack of lifting exercise. And my veins on my arms are difficult to be found because of my scars or they are hiding themselves from other Vampire (blood taking nurse). When the blood taking nurse comes, I will ask her “Are you an experienced Vampire? My blood is very hard to be taken. Can you sense my veins?”
